(Closed door romance but it gets some peppers for some tensionnn)

Ahh this book just made my love for the bodyguard trope grow even larger. I actually liked this one better than the first (When in Rome) because it played towards my favorite tropes more. Plus don’t we all love it when he pretends not to care but inside he has secretly loved her since Day 1 but just couldn’t bring himself to admit it? And he’s only open around her? And she’s really only truly herself around him?

Anyways, quick summary, Annie Walker wants to find a husband. She wants your typically white picket fence, husband, 2.5 kids, and someone who wants to stay in her small hometown of Rome, Kentucky where her flower shop is. Or at least she thought.

After going on a date and overhearing her date call her boring (yikes), she accepts the help of a “dating tutor” via Amelia’s hot, tattooed bodyguard— Will Griffin. Will is temporarily back in town with Amelia’s upcoming wedding, but he is set on only focusing on his work. That quickly fails the more he is around Annie, and especially with this dating tutor task. He is to prep her on how to properly date and find the love of her life; which becomes harder the longer he gets to know her. Annie’s vision of her “happily ever after” also begins to change as she goes on more steamy dates with Will and gets “lessons”. How can she go straitlaced after this?
